McAuliffe PTA Mission Statement
Our PTA is a not-for-profit association of parents and educators who work to enhance the educational opportunities of all McAuliffe students.
As volunteers, we are united in supporting the McAuliffe staff and the students in ways to make our school a safe and successful place for our children.

We are getting ready to send off for this wonderful honor and need nominations from our community for people to receive this award. So think of someone who you would like to nominate, it can be a volunteer you know, a teacher, parent, staff, crossing guard, a member of the community who is always doing stuff for our kids and McAuliffe!!
I know it is a short notice, but we need these nominations back to your teachers or in the office no later than Thursday, Jan. 23rd. We will announce the winners at the General PTA meeting on Thursday Jan. 30th.

All are welcome to run or walk in North Texas’ 1st Annual RACE AGAINST THE ODDS on Saturday, December 7, 2013, in Highland Village, TX in honor of our angel, Sydney Reece Bjornberg. Join us in honoring Syd’s courage by raising awareness for pediatric brain cancers which leads to increased funding towards finding a cure.

Background on Reflections
Reflections was started in 1969 by then Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson, Reflections has encouraged millions of students to express themselves by giving positive recognition for their artistic efforts. Students in preschool through grade 12 may create and submit works of art in six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts. Any PTA/PTSA in good standing is eligible to sponsor Reflections on their campus. To learn more click here.
The theme for the 2013 – 2014 National PTA Reflections® program is “Believe, Dream, Inspire.” Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the theme may be submitted.

McAuliffe Spirit Store will be held on the following Fridays from 2:30pm - 3:30pm.
Volunteer Info: Volunteers needed on an "as needed" basis to sell spirit wear (McAuliffe t-shirts, hats, etc...) at various events. Contact coordinators for further information.

Texas PTA Educator Award
Our educators play a critical role in the development of our children, so it's important to recognize those that always go the extra mile to make every child's potential a reality! Nominations for Texas PTA Outstanding Educator of the Year Awards are now open until May 15 for the five awards categories - Elementary Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal and Superintendent. All finalists and their nominators will be notified immediately and finalists will be asked to submit responses to a few additional questions. Texas PTA will announce finalists on Friday, May 30 via the website. Thank you for supporting PTA and Texas' first-class educators!
